Show Wife of City Sexton , Numbered With Dead. The wife of Paul C. Madsen passed to the beyond Monday evening last, at 8 o'clock, following an illness of geueral debility for nearly two weeks, aged 78 years, 8 months and 26 days. Funeral was held Wednesday afternoon after-noon from the R. S. Hail, the speakers speak-ers being Erick Olson of Favette, Christian Fredricksen of Centerfield, and Fred Ludvigsou and BiBbop RasrauBsen of Gunnison ward. The offering of flowers and the large attendance at-tendance attested the love and esteem held toward the deceased woman. Her six surviving sons acted as pallbearers. pall-bearers. Christiana Nielson Madsen was born in Nastrup, Denmark, October 12,1833. She embraced the Mormon faith and emigrated to Utah with her husband and five of her sons, arriving ou tbe 22ad of July, 1874, at Gunnison, Gunni-son, where she has lived ever since, well respected in the community. Deceased was the mother of seven sons, and except one all are surviving. N. C. ChriRtenson, County Commissioner Commis-sioner C. M. Madsen, Anthony Madsen Mad-sen and Peter C . Madsen were by a former husband Christenson the first mentioned son retaining that name. Niels A. Madsen of Logan and Martin Madsen, besides a deceased son, being the fruit of her marriage to the surviving husband, who is the city sexton of this place. She also had 54 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. |
