Show WASHINGTON SCHOOL NOTES. (liy Margaret Weiser,) Prof. J. 0. Hogensou, M.S. A., of the Agricultural college was In the city Monday, when he perfected the organization of the hoys' and girls' junior clubs. Tho organization of these clubs Is for the purpose of teaching teach-ing the proper culture or raising of potatoes, sugar beets, mangel wmv.ols, cabbage, peas, onions, poultry, to the boys; and bread making', sewing, rais-j rais-j ing of (lower gardens, and fruit and vegetable canning, for the girls. I 11 W IJlllllt llVtll IIO was chosen president, Donetta Peterson Peter-son vice president, and Vesta Pierce secretary. Professor Hogenson remained over until Tuesday, when in the forenoon he gave the sixth, seventh and eighth grades an excellent lecture on the life and growth of the potatoe. We look for much good to result from this venture. The Halloween program given by the Jewell class was very largely attended, at-tended, about forty-five visitors being present. Associate membership badges were given out until the supply sup-ply on hand was exhausted More badges will be in evidence at our next meeting. School patrons, we welcome wel-come you. Mr. Williams w-as unable to attend to his regular school duties Wednesday, Wednes-day, Thursday and Friday of last week, due to his being atliicted with a severe cold. Regular quarterly examinations are ueiug given in an wie graues uius week. The third grade had the best average aver-age in punctuality and attendance last week, and as a result they have been given the large beautiful school flag for one week. The Jewel class will hold all future meetings on Thursday evening, instead in-stead of Friday evening as has been the case heretofore. The Jewel class has prepared the following program, to be carried out Thursday evening, Nov. l.'i, at 7:;i0 o'clock: Piano selection, Miss Ella Jensen. Current events, lrval Savage.
