All the children loved him because he waB kind to them, "Whenever he would hear about any children being sick he would writ th hi kiud letteis or send them some beautiful gifts, which would make them happy. St. Valentine was martyred because of his religion. Aftei he was dead aud gone the people thought they would do something in remembrance of him. His birthday vras on the 14th of February, aud for ever after this day has been called St. Valen tine's day. -The Acme olass have chosen this celebrated night on which to bold their annual bnll. We would like to have all our friends and patrons lay aside tbeir cares on 'hat evmieg ana come out and enjoy a night with tin 'Acm-j Class."
