He had to undergo an ordeal on Sun, day. being bombarded on every side with questions, intended to test the accuracy of his affirmations. Astronomers Are Convinced. One of the most exacting periods oi the day was an interview with Professor Profes-sor Stromberg, leading Scandinavian astronomer, who says when he is pep mitted to examine Dr. Cook's obser vations he can decide within a hali day whether the explorer has been at the pole. Several other expert Arctic explorers were closeted in conversa tlon with Dr. Cook. When they came out, they appeared thoroughly convinced con-vinced of his absolute good faith. |
