Show Head of Crane Company Dead. Chicago. Richard T. Crane, head of Crane company, and foe of universities univer-sities and higher education institutions, institu-tions, died at his home Monday after s. three days' illness of grippe. Nearly eighty years old, Mr. Crane, who had been without the advantages or disadvantages, dis-advantages, as he characterized it Df training in universities and had worked his way to the head of a large iron working company, contended all his life that the college and the university uni-versity was a worthless fixture and that the money devoted to higher aducation could be spent more profitably profit-ably in extending industrial education and aiding persons who had met with adversity. |
