Robert Newman, of 1414 Washington avenue, telephoned to police po-lice headquarters; "I. want you to find my trousers," he said. "Did you look under the mattress?" mat-tress?" asked the telephone clerk in the chief's office. "No." said Newman. Then, talking very fast, he added something which the operator didn't catch.
