Show CAMPAIGN TO SAVE BABIES Before All Things, the Need of Pure Milk Comes First, According to All Authorities. It Is estimated that a baby nursed lay its mother lias approximately ten times the chances to live that a bottle fed baby has. All welfare workers therefore, are advised to encourage mothers to make every effort to carr out this most Important materna duty. A clean milk supply is a fundamen tal need. The ideal is: Nothing short of clean milk for everybody. But the need for the prompt remedy of bac milk conditions is more urgent in Its relntion to the welfare of babies thai: . to that of adults, since dirty milk is largely responsible for the occurrence of diarrhoe and enteritis, the most fre- liifit causes of death among Infants The remedy lies in the intelligent anc effective Inspection of farms, the means of transportation, and the shops where milk is sold, and in ordi nances governing the sale of "dipped' or "loose" milk. |
