Show THE PUBLIC FORUM dear editor I 1 read in the september 1 1955 issue of the journal the ran tings of the old prospector having been a public servant for about five years I 1 have drawn a few conclusions of my own about some of the old pro specters spec tors in our land first I 1 understand that in the in terest of public security some stra cigic information is with withheld held from publication however howe er one of the basic problems of we thousands who work for mr john Q public lies in getting him to take an interest in what we are trying to do to furter the progress of our great nation it seems that the average mr pub lie is too busy seeking his own per bonal gain to give a darn about what s being done for the good of many experience has tau taught me that the vast majority of our civil ser are aro trying their darn dest to do a good job they are proud of their work ork and are willing to make improvements whenever possible some servants are engaged in col electing information which is vital to a vast number of people they are obligated by the laws of fair play not to give a single individual pr onty of that information they must therefore hold their knowledge until a public report can be made which will give everyone equal opportune opp ity to benefit from their findings these cases are not the rule there is now on hand a vast library of public information and scientific facts available for the asking if one would make the effort important meetings are held through the land where the old prospector is in cited and encouraged to come listen and express an opinion maybe mr prospector if you would take the time to examine the situation more closely you would be less inclined to so beverly kenneth williams moab utah |
