Show HAPPENNINGS AND WHEREABOUTS There have been great crowds at PInecrest during dur-ing the week, the majority of them from the city, but many from other states. One of the most interesting events of the week was the affair given by P. W. Madsen for twenty-six people. A bridge party followed by a dinner was given by Mrs..L. It. "VVattis, with covers laid for Mrs. Wm. Spry, Mrs. James McAllister, Mrs. B. O. Meclc-lenberg, Meclc-lenberg, Mrs. A. H. Ensign, Mrs. E. F. Root, Mrs. Fred Davisson, and Mrs. A. K. Tiernan. Mrs. It. E. L. Collier entertained her club at Pine-crest Pine-crest during the week. Among those who have spent several days there are: Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Leyson, Mrs. L. W. Snow and party of fourteen, Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Quealy, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Byrne, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Allen, Mr. and Mrs. H. It. Smoot, Miss Mary Wall, Miss Lucille Clark, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Dunshee, Dr. and Mrs. J. C. Landenberger, Dr. and Mrs. F. C. Pinkerton, Mrs. Milton W. Snow, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Adsit and Mr. and Mrs. James Ingebretsen. There have been numerous motoring parties going up in time for dinner and enjoying the dancing which usually follows, and the canyon resort has been very popular all week. Miss Edna Farnsworth entertained at a luncheon lunch-eon at the Country club on Tuesday for Miss Margaret Mar-garet Burgoyne, who has been visiting Mrs. Lee Charles Miller, and Miss Pauline Sweet, who is Mrs. Keene Miller's guest. Dr. and Mrs. John P. Widstoe have arrived from Honolulu and will spend the remainder of the summer at Bear Lake. In the fall they will be at home at the residence of Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Kingsbury. Mrs. George W. Snow gave a bridge tea at her home on Ninth East on Tuesday in honor of her daughter, Mrs. Lafayette Morrison, of San Diego. She was assisted by Mrs. Earl Pinney and Miss Eva Snow. The marriage of Miss Irene E. Ftr; Mrics and John Wells McManus took place Evanston, Wyoming, on Monday, July 17. Thv will be at home shortly at 341 East Gth South. |
