Show Happenings and Whereabouts Mrs. Andrew Howat and Miss Jane Howat have returned to' the city. They have spent the past three months in New York and Boston. Mrs. Lynn S. Gillham has gone to Los Augelo3 for a visit of several weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Hoyt Sherman are here the guesta of their daughter, Mrs. George Jay Gibson in Newhouse park. They have spent the winter with their daughter, Mrs. Prentiss Gray at Fairfax, California, and after their visit here will make a trip around the world. Mr. and Mrs. A. H. DeNike have returned from the coast. Mr. and Mrs. J. Frank Judge will entertain at a supper at their home in Cottonwood Sunday evening. The wedding of Miss Ruth Wolff and Mr. Alfred Al-fred J. Oppenheim took place at the bride's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Woolff, on Thursday evening. Mrs. A. R. Hager and children are on their way from Manila and will arrive shortly in San Francisco. They will be here to spend the summer sum-mer with Mrs. Hager's father, Charles Read. Miss Mignon Denhalter entertained the Emanon bridge club on Friday, at the Tuck apartments. Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Whitney and Miss Marion Whitney will sail on Tuesday next for a visit of a month abroad. They are booked on the Lusi-tania. Lusi-tania. Miss Alice Spry is visiting Miss Delia Morrell at Logan. Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Salisbury have returned from a visit of a fortnight with Mr. Salisbury's mother in Los Angeles. The wedding of Miss Genieve iBeatie, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Beatie, and Harold B. Challstrom took place at the home of the bride's parents on Tuesday, the Rev. Elmer I. Goshen officiating. The bridge luncheon given by the Plate club at the Commercial club on Tuesday in honor of Mrs. J. H. MacMillan of Los Angeles, was a delightful affair enjoyed by twenty of the members. mem-bers. Mrs. MacMillan is the guest of her mother, Mrs. H. G. Williams. Mr. and Mrs. Wellington Lake entertained at a dancing party on Wednesday evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Greenwald. Mrs. A. L. Hoppaugh was the hostess on Tues-day Tues-day of the Afternoon bridge club. The members of the Cypress bridge club met with Mrs. James Ivors on Tuesday and following a charming luncheon bridge was played. A dozen members of the club were present. |
