Show DAVID F BURT DIED TUESDAY A life of service endeared I 1 him to all funeral to be held this afternoon david patterson burt one ot of the prominent men ot of this community died saturday morning at 1140 0 clock of stomach trouble atter after an illness ot of several weeks at tho the age ot of N 72 2 years last august mr and mrs burt urt went to california to see it if that climate would not improve his condition three months later he returned home iome feeling no better although medical aid had been given him while chere there he grew weaker until the end came came saturday morning david P burt was the second son of the late john D and elizabeth patterson burt he was horn born sept 11 1852 in salt lake city utah he grew to manhood in brigham city and on november 23 1874 married louise daughter of the late william two weeks ago mr air and mrs airs burt celebrated their golden wedding mr air burt was ill at the time but desired his family and relatives to celebrate this ann anniversary I 1 ver mr air burt has been very active in church and public affairs he served in the presidency of the Y al M I 1 A ot of the second ward when that association was first organized in brigham city he was taken out of the and made superintendent ot of the sunday school in 1882 which position he faithfully filled until 1886 when he moved to the third ward ot of brigham he served here as a counselor in the bishopric with bishop lorenzo N stohl and helped to superintend the erection ot of the third ward chapel sept 8 1912 mr burt was made bishop to the third ward he was released may alay 6 1917 because of 0 ill health he has served on various ward committees since that date and has been very active mr burt wa lacounty was county in many any years also a school trustee he took the leading part in all the early theatricals ot of this city and at one time was manager ot of the old opera house he was called to donate one years time to the building ot of the loan temple which he faithfully did he also filled a two years mission in the southern states mr burt was indeed a friend to the people always with the sick and giving comfort to hose in trouble ile he was of a most pleasant disposition congenial and willing to help he is survived by his widow louise IV burt and the following sous sons and daughters D IV burt mrs daisy B reeder airs mrs bessie B wight mrs lulu B reeder mrs lillian B hadley J C ezra and INT righton burt all of this city surviving also are a large number ot of grand children and the following brothers and sisters joseph P burt lorenzo burt john S burt john H burt wallace burt mrs airs tillie B vincent and mrs airs louie B evans funeral servi services cei were held this afternoon at at the third ward ward chapel |
