Show THiE GREETERS. L The local organization has received its charter char-ter from the Greeters of America, national organization or-ganization of hotel clerks, and is now fully organized. or-ganized. The committee in charge of the by-laws and constitution have arranged for a number of copies L to be printed and these will be ready for distii- r bution within a weak or ten days. Meanwhile the f officers of the Greeters are devoting their attention atten-tion to arrangements for sending a delegate to the national convention of hotel clerks to be held in St. Louis, June 19th, 20th and 21st. This delegate, dele-gate, while, of course, an active hotel man of Salt Lake, will not represent any one house, but will go to the convention strictly as a representative of Salt Lake City, and the local organization of Greeters. Initial steps have been taken for a dance to bo given at Saltair, Friday evening, May 5th, the proceeds of which will be used to defray the ex- L penses of the delegate to the national convention, r The Greeters have the support of the Commercial club in giving the dance, as it is believed a delegate dele-gate to the national meeting at St. Louis can do Salt Lake a world of good, and for this reason every encouragement is being given those in charge of the event. Indications point to one of the biggest crowds ever entertained at Saltair at a dance prior to the formal opening of that resort. A special train will leave the city at eight o'clock for the pavil-lion pavil-lion and the fare of fifty cents for he round trip will include the dancing. Tickets are on sale at all hotels, and further L arrangements for the party will bo announced later. At the next meeting of the Greeters membership member-ship cards will bo distributed and definite plans made for representation at the convention in St. Louis. |
