It promises to ho a most Interesting Congress. Some very bright intellects will meet there Hi; and subjects of great importance will be consid- Wm. red. How to make the best use of water in irri- JM gating soils; how to supply just water enough and not too much; tho different methods of apply-ing apply-ing water; all the tricks of Irrigation, have not yet been reduced to an exact science. All those things will be discussed. The most profitable crops to grow on irrigated land will be another theme. The exchange of experiences under different con-ditiong con-ditiong and different climates will be most val-uable. val-uable. Then the Congress will assume many of the attributes of an inter-state fair. There will bi great showings of grains, fruits and vegetables, Hj and extravagant prizes will be given. And the Congress opens on Monday By the way there is going to be an effort made at the Congress to have the next Congress in Washington, D. C. Tho thought behind it is to have a Congress meet when the National Congross is in session, to educate tho Eastern poople up to the miracles that are being performed by applying wateri to growing crops; to nationalize irrigation arid states will have to subscribe for the expense and make It a concernment to every state. Tho of such a congross, for Eastern farmers and, horticulturists hor-ticulturists sit calmly by; their crops perishing under a drought while clear streams ilow past their doors, and charge the calamity to a dispensation dispen-sation of divine providence instead of to their own ignorance.
