Show NEW GAS COMPANY HOLDS UPEN HOUSE. Any one doubting for an instant the sincerity of the Utah Gas & Coke company, which has been ripping our streets up one side and down the other for the past several months, should have been in attendance at the company's office, yesterday yes-terday afternoon and evening. The reception given to prospective patrons was carried out in the same enthusiastic manner as has marked the progress of the company's work since digging dig-ging began. While the new company will not be ready to turn on the gas until early spring, the number of subscribers enrolled to date was sufficient to form a real guest body at the reception given in the spacious offices oil upper Main street Music and flowers were dispensed for the edification of those present, while viewing the many demonstrations" of the advantages of gas for illuminating and heating. A general public invitation is extended this afternoon and evening for a reception of festivities. |
