Show THE DUBEI SUNSHINE. John Dubel is the latest baseball magnate to convluse the natives with his quaint expressions, though all of his bon mots are not confined to tho field of sport. For instance a few months ago Dubei the younger, was apparently not making the progress in school that his fond parent had hoped for, so finally the elder Dubei took it upon himself to see just what the trouble was. So armed with a fine frenzy he went to Investigate, In-vestigate, and upon seeing the teacher asked: "Vot is de drouble vid dot poy of mine?" "I do not know Mr. Dubei," replied the teacher mildly.. "Veil," said Dubei, "I tell you vot I do. Py Got, I gif you a hunderd tollers if you make dot poy smart." Father Dubei's team lost a ball game the other day, and some of the boys who were discussing It on the way back to town said that "sticking" lost the game for them. So next day at the shop, some of the workers asked the magnate how his team happened to lose the day before. "Veil," said Dubei, "sticking did it." ' "What do you mean by that?" he was asked. "Veil," he replied, "you see de poys got to first base, und dey sticked dere." |
