Show A NEW RESORT OPENS TODAY. The sun of another Fourth breaking over the white capped peaks of the Wasatch this morn- ing sends its shimmering rays down onto a new pleasure ground for Salt Lake. Lying at the very mouth of lore-rich, picturesque pic-turesque Emigration Canyon, backed by the rocky hillsides, while stretching away to north and south, go the purple foothills with valley and city unfolded below, Emigration Canyon Resort is open to the public. Two great shady parks cooled by the breezes that come bowling down the canyon a fine new dining and club inn of the bungalow order a splendid dancing pavilion and two artistic and ornate refreshment pavilions, with the shady and delightful walks, rides and drives that twist their way in and about at the mouth of Emigration canyon are a few of the attractions of the new resort. But a little way off is the immense plant of the Wagener Brewing company. The road to the mouth of the canyon has been improved so that it is admirable for motor cars, riding and driving. Chiefly important, however, is the fact that today marks the inauguration of service on the now Emigration canyon electric road from Fifth South and Thirteenth East street at the new station opposite ML, Olivet. The new resort is exactly on the line of the road and the fare from town, beginning today will be 20 cents for the round trip and the ride is a ten-minute run. The first car leaves at 9 o'clock this morning and the service is every twenty minutes thereafter. there-after. The road brings you direct to the new resort. re-sort. Everybody's country club Is about the best way to type the new pleasure ground. The tennis ten-nis courts and baseball ground, the dancing pavilion, pa-vilion, refreshment pavilions and the new inn are bound to prove attractive. The dining and club pavilion is unusually handsome and is finished in rustic on the interior. The dining room can be converted into a ball room when necessary and this, the management will do when large private parties are held at the resort. Arrangements have been made for the best of cuisine and service and altogether nothing has been left undone to make the new resort a success suc-cess and popular. From 75 to 100 couples can be accommodated on the floor of the dancing pavilion and almost as many on the floor of the Inn's din- j ing room. For a cool, quiet, enticing resort quickly reached and possessing enjoyable features, Emigration Emi-gration Canyon resort should prove a mecca for thousands of tired pleasure seeking Salt Lakers and tourists before the season closes. |
