Show The Tribune is still unreconciled over the injection in-jection of Hon. B. H. Roberts Into the campaign, though he is talking earnestly for the Democratic ticket, and the majority of his audiences do not know but he Is talking good sense. Why should The Tribune be so comfortless? Did it not break out two months ago to compass the same ends? Was not its purpose to turn the state, and if noed be, the nation to the tender mercies of the Democratic party? Did not it pledge its honor and fortune on a scheme, the first preliminary of Which was to be the defeat of the Republican party and the turning of the state over to the Democratic party? Was that not the idea also of Colonel Ferry, Judge Hiles and ex-Senator Cannon? Can-non? Was not the thought 'in the mind of Senator ' Dubois? Did the Tribune want all the honor? It could not have expected any patronage, for It could not have forgotten that the Democracy, when the polls close, closes its heart, if victorious, victor-ious, to all sense of generosity, gratitude or sense of fair play. Why Is the Tribune on the eve of possible victory so disgruntled? |
