Show Mrs. J. Fewson 'Smith, the ardent Democratic worker, received quite a shock the other day, which resulted in a smothered scream and a hurried hur-ried exit from state Democratic headquarters. Mrs. Smith belonged to that contingent of the un-terrifled un-terrifled which believed that Mr. Frank J. Cannon is not working for the national Democratic committee com-mittee and that there is no political alliance between be-tween him and the Democratic state chairman. The shock she received was consequently intense, when she hurriedly entered the office of the chairman on Wednesday, to find Mr. Bamberger, National Committeeman Peery and Frank J. Cannon Can-non in deep consultation. Mrs. Smith has now seen the light, and as she is strongly opposed to the American party, her political ardor is said to have undergone a notable diminution. |
