Show The Daly West distributed its September dividend divi-dend of $108,000 this week. The final payment of $45,000 was made into tho bnk of McCornick & Co. Monday for the cntrol of the Galena King company's mines at Stockton, which adjoin the Honorlne properties. The purchasers are Capt. McVichie of Salt Lake City, Col. J. H. Knight of Ashland, Wis., Judge J. C. Cochrane of the same place and Isaac Wing of Bayfield, Wis. Tho newly-elected officers of the Wabash Mining Min-ing company are Col. Treweek, president and manager; Samuel H. Lewis, vice-president; W. M. Ferry, treasurer; Col. M. A. Daugherty, secretary, and John M. Daugherty of Butte and Thomas Cuplt of Park City, directors. The October dividend of the Con. Mercur was posted at the regular monthly meeting of directors, amounting to 3 cents, or $30,000, which will be distributed October 9th. The capacity of the California Mining company concentrator at Park City is to be doubled at an early date, so that the plant will handle a daily average of 120 tons of crude ore. The total output of precious and baser metals . by the mines of Utah for the year 1901, as given by the director of the mine aie in full $27,091,710. V A new fifteen-horse-power gasoline engine and plant are en route to the Eureka-Ophir Consolidated Con-solidated mine in Dry Canyon, Tooele county and will soon be in operation. A new postofflce is to be established in Dry Canyon and is to be called "Gisborn." An early resumption of work on the Wild Bill mine in the Star district of Beaver county is expected. ex-pected. Matt Cullen of this city is one of the owners of this valuable property and expects to make a big winner out of his Beaver property. It is reported that Charles I. Rader, together with several Quaker capitalists have obtained the controlling interest in the Hiawatha gold mine, near the mouth of Little Cottonwood canyon, southeast of Salt Lake City. The Gold Dust Mining company of Salt Lake, of which valuable property B. M. Harmon is president, presi-dent, are making arrangements for installing a 100-ton mill on their holdings near Leesburg, Ida. The York Mining company has recently placed two Ingersoll-Sargent drills in their mine near Bingham. The Bamberger Do La Mar Gold mines company com-pany is about placing a new 500-ton mill at De La Mar, Nev., for use on their immense properties. M. B. Powers and associates of Salt Lake are developing the only bismuth mine in Utah, in the Granite mountains west of Beaver. The metal is so high grado in places that it runs from 40 to 50 per cent. |
