Show SUPPOSE WE BRAG A LITTLE. The ruling trait of Goodwin's Weekly is its modesty, but it loves justice and justice demands the statement that its last week's Christmas Weekly was the finest published anywhere in the Union west of New York City. The big cities of Chicago, St. Louis and San Francisco and the lesser cities all over the Union produced nothing to compare with it. For a little town where half the people are not given to reading really fine papers, it was a triumphal success. For a little journal that had nothing behind it at first but a hope and a determination to do business on the dead square, the last week's euitlon of this journal jour-nal was a bird. And it was not a spurt, but merely mere-ly a representative of a steady growth. |
