Show The meeting at the Grand theatre on Thursday of women supposed to be ardently enthusiastic advocates of the bolting movement, was a grave disappointment to the leaders of the American party movement. The theater was secured in anticipation an-ticipation of an Immiense gathering1, but only about one hundred and fifty women were present at the function, and the usual custom among the , Americans of placing on committees the names of people who had never signified their sympathy with the movement was followed. The feature of tho event was an Interesting lecture by Mrs, A. F. Newman. The organ of the bolters attempted to account for the meager and disappointing attendance by stating that a rumor had been started to the effect that former Senator Arthur Brown was on the organization or-ganization committee, and makes the correction that the Arthur Brown named on the committee is tho highly respected toller in the Commercial National bank. |
