The Creole group of claims at Stateline, Utah, his been purchased by a Duluth, Minn., company, the consideration being $25,000. The same company com-pany has bonded the Wollowvale group, which lies in the same neighborhood, and development will start at once, the two groups to be ultimately incorporated in-corporated in one company. The properties are near the Ophir and the ore is gold and silver. A strike of copper ore running from 35 to 40 per cent was made in the Great Western, in Big Cottonwood, Cot-tonwood, during the week. The extent of the strike could not be learned, and complete assays were not made public, but it is believed that the ore also carries good silver and gold values. It is owned by Senator Rawlins and David Evans. Carisa marketed two cars of ore the first of the week, receiving $4900 for the two. One car brought $3000 and the other $1900. Manager Joseph states that with the ore at the sampler still unsettled for, and ore shipped the first part of the month, the entire receipts for the month I will run up to $10,000. I Manager A. L. W. T. Hook, manager of the New York and Nevada company's mines and plant at Ely, Nev., has closed a deal by which the company acquires the waters of Murray creek, near Ely, for $35,000. A new smelter is one of the first improvements to be put in at the company's plant. A number of rich strikes are reported in the Unaweep district in the La Sal range, one of which was made in the "Plug Hat," owned by John Kelly of Castleton, who has commenced shipping rich sold ore to Grand Junction. The Chicago-La Sal properties are showing up high-grade gold ore, and the company is now prospecting for the deposit of tellurium gold in a locality where numerous float of this character has been found. |
