Show HH No statement has been forthcoming from the HHB Tribune regarding a change in its editorial HBBH ttaff, so we are not to know from that authorl- Hp tatlve source that Frank J. Cannon is now editor- i in-chief of the bolting organ. And still Mr. Can non, with all his cunning, is not able to disguise in the Tribune editorials bis facile hand. Besides, Mr. Cannon is observed to mysteriously enter the Tribune dally, and likes the old building so well that He spends hours within its protecting walls. Wa wonder if, as stated, that the room which Mr. Cannon occupies during his stay there is to bo carefully and judiciously padded, so that his strident accents, as he peals his sonorous editorials edi-torials to a stenographer, may not be heard by pedestrians who might casually wander adown the hallway. Still the Tribune, with Mr. Cannon as editor, has no compunction about making a pretentious display of the names of the Republican Republi-can presidential electors, notwithstanding the rumor that the guiding editorial spirit of the paper is now the same forensic genius who a few days ago accused the President of the United States of a dishonorable political intrigue with the leaders lead-ers of the Mormon church, an accusation which was commented upon by the Tribune as "great and patriotic service." What a magnificent aid to Mr. Roosevelt's campaign the Tribune really is. It has demonstrated that it is now merely a Democratic Demo-cratic organ, from all Indications edited by a fanatical Democrat and its pretensions to Republican Repub-lican loyalty are merely a sham that would shame a gory-fingered bUccanneer. Since the beginning of the Cannon regime another change of heart on the part of the bolting organ is to be noted. American Party and Democratic rallies, held In the interests of the Parker and Davis electors, are given voluminous space and commendation In the organ, while a scant mention, in which the appellations ap-pellations of "frost" and "ice house" occur with remarkable frequency, Is the only contribution vouchsafed meetings of the party which is striving striv-ing for the triumph of the Roosevelt electors in this state. |
