Show Mining JSfote. The general improvement in many stocks, and the steadiness and strength displayed in others, both in local mining circles, and on the Boston market, have been exceptionally good indications to the local brokers and investors the past week, and have resulted in general good feeling. Among the big stocks Bingham has been particularly par-ticularly strong, and Grand Central, Majestic and Daly have been in great demand. Apparently the end is not in sight for Daly, and probably it will go higher. Grand Central looks good, to the old guard who have stood by it through thick and thin, and the demand for Majestic will probably send that stock to $4 by the end of next week. Lower Mammoth has been erratic all week, but closed firm. Wabash had a little spurt, and the demand for Imperial sent that stock to fifty cents bid. This came in regular line with the demand for coppers in the Beaver district. The whole market is most encouraging. iX iJ5 ,C Joseph Oberndorfer is in the East on mining business, and will call on many clients before returning re-turning to the city. t3 t t5 fiichard Guenther, Jr., has gone to Marysvale to superintend the Franklin properties at Gold Mountain. He says that he will not return until April, unless he can bring in some exceptionally good news from the properties before that time. fc5 t& tw O. H. Bessert of Chicago has been made superintendent super-intendent of the Raven Mining company, the property prop-erty which is near the Uintah reservation. The company has been shipping about 175 tons of elat-erite elat-erite a month, but as the new superintendent has placed more men at work the output will doubtless be greatly increased. C t5 Ralph Nichols, a noted mining expert and superintendent su-perintendent of the Perseverance mine in Australia, Aus-tralia, inspected the Cactus In company with Manager Man-ager Johnson. He looked at several other Beaver county properties. iv jC j,J Considerable agitation has been raised during the past week for the purpose of securing a railroad rail-road for Tonopah, which seems likely to be successful. suc-cessful. It is understood that in event of a railroad rail-road being pushed to Tonopah the mines there will ship to the Salt Lake smelters. |
