Show It is strange that modern statesmen are fight- H ing shy of a nomination for Vice-President. One- H third of all the men who have held that ofilce H have later become Presidents. Does the aver- H age statesman in this country think he has more jH than one chance in three of being President some H time? Some rather shining names are in tho roll jH of Vice-Presidents, such as John Adams, Thomas H Jefferson, Aaron Burr, George Clinton, Daniel D. jH Tompkins, Martin Van Buren, John C. Calhoun, flU John C. 'Bre'ckenridge, Theodore Roosevelt and H 'others. It is not such a bad title. fli |
