U Miss Jacobs is one of the most charming and ? popular girls in local socioly, and Lieutenant White was one of the best liked officers ever stationed at a J Douglas. H i The church was tastefully decorated with Hi palms, ferns and smilax, yellow chrysanthe-Hgi chrysanthe-Hgi 1 1 mums and white satin ribbon predominating in Hij I the color scheme. Ropes of smilax extended Hi I I down the main aisle, and at the end of each Hil( I pew, clusters of yellow mums were tied with Hh& white ribbon. The chancel and the altar were Hf 'B banked with ferns and smilax, and masses of H JftWi chrysanthemums. H f There has never been 'a sweeter, prettier wed- H i 'i ding in the old cathedral, with so many charm- Hi i I ing maids, and with such a savor of youth. The i ' ! bridesmaids were Aileen Maclean, Helen Gilles pie, Evelyn Mason, and Jasimine Young, and the maid of honor, Polly Wakeling, Rudolph R. Schulder was best man, and the ushers were Messrs. Satterlee, Richards, Sharp and Cannon. After the wedding a brilliant reception was held in the Knutsford parlors, and several hundred hun-dred friends of Mr. and Mrs. Schulder were present to wish them happiness. At the recep tion as in the church, the decorations were in yellow and white and practically the whole of B oi the second floor was used for the elaborate tunc Bk fy tion, H1 If; I Mr. and Mrs. Schulder left for the north after B; the reception leaving for the East Thursday. H I K kJ a beautiful wedding, and one of great Inter- Bpfi et to local society was that of Miss Winnie FPi Welby and Fred M. Earls, which took place Hpf Thursday evening at St. Marks' cathedral. Miss HnPf Lena Welby was maid of honor, and the brides maids were Miss May Critchlow and Miss Elsie - Dickert. C. P, Overfleld was best man, and v Dr. Critchlow, A. B. Sawyer, Frank Roberts and Mark Clark, the ushers. After the ceremony, a supper was served at 'the home of Bishop and Mrs. Leonard. - 5 fc The dinner given by Miss Irene Dickson for tho bridal party, the night before the wedding was a gorgeous event. The table was set in the red dining room, and the color scheme of the wedding, wellow and white was artistically fol- flowed. Yellow dahlias were used in profusion, and everything appertaining to the table carried the golden tint. J 5 Polly Pry published the following paragraph which will be of great intereri to many of the local smart set who know both of the principals: "The persistent rumor of the engagement of "Kitten" Dillingham of Denver to Joe Davis of Virginia Is being circulated airong the Salt Lake friends of the young lady. I noticed that the nephew of Senator Elkins wa.e very attentive to "Kitten," but the engagement has not been officially offi-cially announced. Be nice, though, would it, if she and her friend Edna Case fixed things for a double wedding?" W f6& The stag dinner given last Saturday evening at the Commercial club by H. M. Crowther and Lou Farnsworth was an event to be remembered by all who can. It was the best ever, and an im mense success. c Will Hall and Frank Judge entertained at a beautiful luncheon at the Country Club on Wednesday for twenty-five ladies. Pink roses and satin ribbons were beautifully arranged on one long table, and the event was one of the prettiest of the early autumn. $ s Mr. Burns Macdonald Is in the city for a few days' visit. Wish he'd bring his charming wife and beautiful sister with him next time. (3 Is fcS The tea at the Country Club today will be the last of the season. Mrs. Russell L.
