Show The automobile is gaining its way. It is believed be-lieved that in a few years more the street cars will disappear from paved cities and their place be filled with automobiles. They are being simplified and otherwise improved constantly. They are already al-ready used to an extent not dreamed of by ordinary ordi-nary people. The new ones last year cost more than the new locomotive built. As the automobile automo-bile is pushing its way against the delivery wagon and the street car, the electric car is crowding hard upon the locomotive. The trolley Is now. finding its way Into all villages and connecting connect-ing suburban hamlets with the big towns. Then they are working incessantly on electric engines, the purpose being to make the driving power as the machine moves, the seme as a locomotive, loco-motive, the difference being that the power of the locomotive is direct, while that of the car will bo transmitted. The outlook is a little discouraging to horse breeders, but there aie still a good many places where the horse can go and the car and automobile cannot. |
