Show Corridors How Do You Lean? Before the white man brought civilization to North America, wolves, bears and other roving wildlife moved unobstructed from Mexico to the Hudson Bay. Although few people are aware of it, America is very close to allowing wolves and other carnivores carni-vores to once again 'have supreme right of movement across America by mandate of a warm, fuzzy treaty called the Convention on Biological Diversity. To read the full Declaration go to their web site at: http:www.igc.apc.orghabit atagenda21riodec.htmI . Clothed in innocence, the treaty is in fact designed to radically transform Western Civilization into a society where wolves and other entities of nature have more rights than humans. Irrefutable evidence of this agenda was covertly obtained from the United Nations and made available to the Senate in a cliff-hanger cliff-hanger race to the wire during the waning hours of the 103rd Congress. Con-gress. Environmentalists have long asserted that white man's cities, highways, intensive agriculture, forest harvesting, and other activities activi-ties have disrupted and fragmented natural ecosystems. According to environmental theology, earth's so called fragile web of life is being destroyed as species become extinct by the thousands, and biodiversity, critical to the web's survival, vanishes. van-ishes. As the 1980's dawned, a new age dream of sustainability and a world treaty to protect biodiversity began to take shape in the minds of those who would return us to nature. Last week's front page story in the Garfield County News says "Garfield, Wayne Counties to Develop Hwy 12 Corridor Plan". That sounds harmless enough. But, can you define what "corridors" are? Is there any need for concern in that simple sounding term? When did that term originate and for what purpose? Folks who live in areas like we live need to become familiar with some of the ongoing projects designed to take away more of our (See LETTER page 4A) LETTER From Page 2 freedoms and the unique vocabularies vocabu-laries related to them. Words like cores, buffers, corridors, wildlands, roadless, etc., are very ambiguous and may seem harmless on the surface but must be considered very carefully as to their deeper meanings mean-ings in the contexts in which they are used and for their too-often hidden goals. The environmental dream culminated cul-minated in the 1992 United Nations Conference on the Environment, otherwise known as the Earth Summit, held in Rio de Janeiro. Hosted by none other than proclaimed pro-claimed New Age and United Nations leader Maurice Strong, the Summit gave birth to what was called the Convention on Biological Diversity. Fewer than 30 pages long, this treaty was promoted as a crowning achievement for man that would save the earth by protecting biodiversity through the application of vaguely scribed principles and theology. Worst of all, the basis for protecting biodiversity and ecosystems ecosys-tems was to be centered on what is known as the "Wildlands Project". This draconian plan calls for setting aside vast areas (about 50 to 80 percent) of America into reserve wilderness areas, intercon-necting corridors, and human buffer zones where human use would be eliminated elimin-ated or severely restricted. According Ac-cording to the June 25, 1993 issue of Science magazine, such a system sys-tem of reserves and corridors would create "an archipelago of human-inhabited human-inhabited islands surrounded by natural areas." Concerning the Wildlands Project I quote Edward Abbey, s Deep Ecology for the 21st Century: The Natural Wonder: An Eco-Eccentric Eco-Eccentric World View. New Dimensions Radio, 1998. "We have got to share this planet with the other living creatures, and sharing shar-ing means not merely preserving them in zoos or National Parks, but setting aside huge areas. Whole regions perhaps that will be free of human interference. Ideally, I would like to see certain large areas of the planet set off-limits to human entry of any kind, even aerial over flights." The project seeks to do this by creating "reserve networks" across the continent. Reserves are made up of the following: "Cores", created from public lands such as National Forest and Parks, "Buffers", often created from private land adjoining the cores to provide additional protection, "Corridors", a mix of public and private lands usually following along rivers and wildlife migration routes. The primary characteristics of core areas are that they are large (100,000 to 25 million acres), and allow for little, if any, human use. The primary characteristics of buffers are that they allow for limited human use so long as they are "managed with native biodiversity bio-diversity as a preeminent concern". Moral and ethical guidelines for the Wildlands Project are based on the philosophy of Deep Ecology . The eight-point platform of Deep Ecology can be summarized as follows: "All life (human and non-human) non-human) has equal value. "Resource consumption above what is needed to supply 'vital' human needs is immoral. "Human population must be reduced. "Western civilization must radically change present economic, technological, and ideological structures. "Believers have an obligation to try to implement the necessary changes." The designations of monuments . all across the West have filled in the gaps where these other plans have left "loop holes" tightening the boundaries of where any American citizen can tread on public lands. Fulfillment of public laws that mandate multiple use activity are being abandoned by agencies responsible for management manage-ment for the net public benefit under un-der the disguise of wildlife habitat protection. The agenda to proceed with rural cleansing and rewilding of America is well underway. They are succeeding at their mission at a rapid pace and the inclusion of large populations of human inhabitants is clearly not apart of connecting the wildlands. We you and I are to be systematically removed. If, you believe that we are the product of random chance over (See LETTER page 7A) : LETTER '. From Page 4-A billions of years and have survived because of being the most genetically fit by way of natural selection, then the only "right" you possess is, a greater might than . others. Hardly a philosophical or moral springboard there. We have heard it before, "Might makes Right!" There .is. no morality, right or wrong, good or '. evil except for that which is . personally beneficial for the wielder of might. At some point the wielders create a government with a "law" that grants alienable "rights." If you believe that there is intelligent design behind our existence, whatever that intelligence may be ("Nature's God" implies a superior being), and you believe that intelligence has communicated . a behavioral model (moral code or "Laws of Nature") to live by, then : you believe that Life (existence) is Right (endowed with unalienable rights). There is an objective or author-' author-' ' itative standard separate from the personal beneficial desires of the individual or government. Morality, right and wrong, good and evil are judged by that standard. Environmental catastrophes are being used to convince Americans that we must give up our Constitutional Consti-tutional liberties and protections to save the earth and ourselves along with it. Most Americans are totally unaware of this agenda including most environmentalists who are helping to implement it. Most Americans cannot accept that there are a few Americans that believe they know better than everyone else on how to run the world, and are willing to destroy the lives of their fellow man to gain power for themselves. They believe it could never happen in America. Tragically, not only can it happen, hap-pen, it is happening right now.' Unless their plans are exposed, the global elitists plan to impose a pantheistically based world ethic system (religion) on every citizen of the world. There is no accountability ac-countability to the people, nor checks or balances in these proposed pro-posed changes to the United Nations. History reveals that tyranny tyr-anny always results when accountability account-ability and checks and balances are not the rule of law. "If ever time should come, when . vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, , our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin" said Samuel Adams. It is now a time for positive action, not just rhetoric, to prevent America's ruin. However, our "experienced patriots" need to know themselves before they can help change the fate of our nation. Regardless, there are consequences to either action and our patriots must be honest about what "game" it is they really want to join. We need to ask ourselves what our true motivations for change are and if we are willing to pay the price of our actions Allowing Scenic Highway 12 Federal status will impose no additional restrictions, or so says the Federal Government. If you believe that, I have a bridge in Brooklyn I'll sell real cheap. If the current purpose of a Corridor Management Man-agement Plan relies on community input and support to write a document that outlines a specific plan of action to include tourism development, public safety and resource protection, who better than local and state personnel? Would someone please answer the question, "Why is the Federal Government taking such a part in the Corridor Plan?" Who and how does the county benefit(s) from this? Did facilitators and The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) know that this original concept was introduced years ago through Ann King and the Utah Travel Council? King made presentations to the Garfield County Coun-ty Commission on two separate occasions and both times commissioners commis-sioners pulled back, leery of the regulations and control making Hwy 12 a corridor and what it might possibly bring. Why did UDOT's October 2000 news release about four open houses set for Cannonville, Escalante, Boulder and Bicknell Boulder not use key phrases like management plan and corridor planning? Why was the news release, as well as the open houses so soft peddled to the public? Who is mandating this plan and to what end? 1 Locals are beginning to read between the lines and pleasantries espoused by state and federal agencies and truly are trying to flesh out what is meant and intended. This Corridor Planning is not just taking place on Hwy 12 but Hwy 24, 1-70, Hwy 10, US89 all the side corridors that are beginning or have been heavily impacted by tourism travel and coal and timber trucking, etc. Could this be a precursor to bringing more laws and restrictions along those highway? There will always be competing values in our society. However, the conflict between competing values is escalating and the pendulum is swinging toward socialism, authoritarianism authori-tarianism and tyranny. How do you lean? Why don't you ask your commissioners which way they lean? Federal involvement or no? Larry Ripplinger Boulder |
