' ' Utah Peace Officers Association President Eric Nielson, Taylorsville; Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Jim Keller, Kanab; and Garfield County Sheriff's Deputy Clint Pierson presented a check for $600 to Carolyn Jones, Escalante, widow of slain county deputy Dave Jones. The funds were spontaneously collected from members among their ranks attend- ing the annual Mid-Winter UPOA Conference Confer-ence in St. George. Nielson said the conference con-ference was lower in attendance because of recent law enforcement cutbacks, but officers were nevertheless overwhelmingly overwhelming-ly generous.
