Show anmismiG twits By Wynona Henderson 679-8560 Visitors at LDS church on Sunday were Tom Kline and son of West Jordan. They were here checking on their property. Speakers on Sunday included Sam Pollock and Fred Syrett of the High Council. A musical number was performed by the ward choir. Chris and Krisette Roberts and Darwin and Kathy Shakespeare were in Mesquite, Nev., where Chris was trained by six master Karate leaders who had fourth degree belts or higher. They were from Colorado, Utah, Nevada and Arizona. Logann and Max Eagar went to the Manti LDS Temple for Valentine's Day. Max also painted an oil painting of the temple as a surprise for Logann. The Bryce Lions club joined the newly organized Potato Valley club for a dinner on Friday night in Escalante. The club will be headed up by Daryl Shumway. Also, the Lions still have a few calendars available by calling Ernie Henderson in Henrieville. Cost is $3. Guy and Bev Thompson hear from their daughters regularly. Heidi is in New York City doing medical research and Cecile is in New Jersey working at a trauma trau-ma center. The Thompsons took Kristy Clark and their daughter Dixie to Payson to a ball game. Tarynn and Krista Piatt have gone back to St. George after the long weekend. They come as often as they can to help out at home. The Cub Scouts held their Blue and Gold Banquet on Wednesday. There were some very good cakes made and decorated deco-rated by the boys and their dads. We are glad to hear Rae Smith is home after a few weeks visit with Dorothy Burkard in Peoria, Ariz. Dorothy coaches a girls basketball team there and Rae had fun watching her two granddaughters play. On Thursday, Rae attended the games in Escalante along with several others from here. A special plaque and trpphy were presented to Margo Smith in honor of her late husband Jim Smith. It was a special night for the family. Max and Logann Eagar and Cal Chynoweth made a trip to Cedar City. Visitors at Ernie and Wynona Henderson's were Ernie's sister Joan Cowles and Doyle Jackson of North Salt Lake City. Logann and Max Eagar came and helped celebrate Doyle's birthday. Ernie drove the Senior Citizen van to Panguitch on Thursday and to Escalante on Friday for commodities. LaRona Callahan was in St. George for doctor's appointments appoint-ments and back to Cedar City for further tests. Her daughter Shauna Callahan has moved here. We welcome her. Jim and Connie Liles of West Valley City spent some time here with mom Doris Liles. They were returning home after a week-long cruise to the Carribean. On the weekend of Feb. 9, Gary and Sandy Johnson and all their children and spouses stayed in Minersville to celebrate cele-brate the birthdays of Jed and wife Rosana Johnson and Sarah Bradshaw and two-year-old son Braxton. It was great fun. Last weekend, Jurgen and Ingo Lifferth spent the weekend at the Johnson home. It was Ingo's first visit to Utah and the first time meeting Gary and Sandy. Ingo is Jurgen's younger brother and are second cousins to Sandy. They thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful scenery and they went hiking in Calf Creek and touring Bryce Canyon. Jurgen and Ingo live in Germany. |
