Show By Mamie Talbot 679-8084 Has Spring sprung? Some days it's hard to tell. The wind from the north is still very cold but the sun makes us think Spring. Norman and Sheryl Crosby took Maxine Crosby to the St. George LDS Temple to attend the wedding of her granddaughter, Kristan Bailey to Jeremy Brennen. Kristan is a daughter of Philip and Jaynel Crosby Bailey. Maxine said that there were 35 weddings held that day in the temple. It must be Spring! Norma Talbot was surprised by some overnight visitors, her grandson grand-son Mike Davis, his wife Teresa and their two sons. They had been to St. George where they attended an awards seminar. Mike received a beautiful plaque for outstanding service by a waste water operator. Mike was a 1976 graduate of Panguitch Pan-guitch High School. His other grandma is Melda Davis of Tropic. Shirley Hughes went to Enoch last week to help babysit while' daughter Sherrie has surgery. Everything Eve-rything is reported O.K. Shane Walsh and Kimberlee Hughes were married Mar. 9. They are the parents of Jylor and Dakota Walsh. Proud parents are John and Shirley Hughes and Robert and Nancy Walsh. Winona Sevy, Jolene Smith and Arlene Davenport went to Manti to attend the LDS temple there with Ben Sevy. Ben will be leaving shortly for an LDS mission to Bra- (See PANGUITCH on page 3-A) PANGUITCH From Page 2 zil. He is a son of Ken and Annette Sevy and grandson of Harold and Winona Sevy. Tim and Dacey Hudson and family fam-ily of St. George were here visiting her parents Barry and Arlene Davenport. Dav-enport. Gennie Hatch, daughter of natives na-tives David and Vera Henrie Hatch, was married in the Manti LDS Temple to Adam Lake of Delta. Most all of the Hatch families were there. Grandma Mary Henrie attended at-tended with her daughter Geraldine and husband George Robinson. A reception was held in Cedar City for the young couple. Virginia Englestead got word that her pilot husband Dean was very ill in Canada. The airline he works for got her there in a hurry. They are home now. The modular classrooms on the west end of Panguitch Elementary School have been remodeled. One room will be for the reading program pro-gram and the other will become the computer lab. The Dale and Beth Orton family gave the program in the Panguitch LDS 2nd Ward sacrament meeting. Torie Orton performed a piano solo. It was a wonderful program. The Panguitch LDS 4th Ward Relief Society Birthday Party was held Mar. 15 in the Stake Center. The party used to be called the "17th of March" party, as that was the day the Relief Society was organized or-ganized over a hundred years ago. It's always a great experience for the women of all the wards to get together. This year, Mar. 17 was the Stake Relief Society temple day in St. George. The old stables at the fair grounds are being torn down. Folks are welcome to tear down and take away the blocks and lumber. The modular home belonging to the Brady Eyres is here and being set on the cement pad on the Kaibab road. Bishop Mike Tebbs was the speaker at the Care Center LDS Sacrament meeting. Tammy Houston Hous-ton sang a solo. In the Panguitch LDS 4th Ward, Lonnie Millgate was ordained a priest. Sister Heather Osborn reported re-ported her mission to Canada. The youth speaker was Aaron Frandsen. Jason Eyre, husband of Kristin Osborn, Os-born, sang "Chosen For All Time." Shirley Henrie had her grandchildren grand-children from West Valley City here for Michael Foy's missionary farewell. Cindy Barney's parents were here visiting with her, Curtis and the children. John and Jennifer Gillett had friends, the Deckers, here visiting. Arlin Sawyer and Sawyer flew to be with wife, Connie and the girls while Connie's mother has been very ill. Ken Roe of Smithfield has been here doing work on the Roe family house and researching Panguitch Main Street and businesses. Skip Houston completed his training in Georgia and flew to Salt Lake City to meet his wife Sherrie and little son Riley. They went to Provo to the State Wrestling Tournament Tour-nament where he saw his father Frank Houston inducted into the Wrestling Coaches State Hall of Fame. Skip and his family visited a few days in Panguitch. Then they loaded up their belongings and sent them to El Paso, Tex., where he will be employed. They arrived there safely. The Howard and Nedra Johnson children have sold the Ten Mile home, store and station. Scott and Suzette Hoskins were here visiting her parents, Laurel and, Louise Holman. Suzette officiated in some of the girls tournament games. Mabel Harris had corrective eye surgery and is doing well. She is Rick Irish's mother. Elder David Veater, son of Rob and Lori Veater and grandson of Ralph and Darylene Veater, met former Panguitchites Ellis and Leila Crosby on his mission. They invited in-vited him to their home for dinner and enjoyed hearing about Panguitch. Pan-guitch. Westley Harris enlisted in the Air Force Reserve. His parents, Bob and Mary Harris, took him to Texas for training. |
