Show PAHGUITCil HGl'JS By Earl Roe 676-2376 wearlroeyahoo.com "Hello to all of my friends in Panguitch." This greeting is from Bill Collier from southwest south-west Texas (McAllen). Bill is a former resident of Panguitch who, along with his wife, Edie, established the 'Cowboy Smokehouse' in Panguitch. He writes, I want you to know how much I appreciate your writing about my favorite place in the world." Bill states that "between reading the Garfield County News and his contacts with Russell Bulkley, he feels that he is kept as up to date on what is going on here as anyone in Texas. Bill's closing remarks were, "Take care of your little bit of heaven, my dream is still to retire in Panguitch." Bill, we have always taken care of "our little bit of heaven', maybe not always as well as we could have, and we will continue to do so if the environmentalists will let us do it the way it should be done. This is a promise from all of us in southern Utah. Norman and Dora Ann Henrie recently returned from Salt Lake City where they traveled trav-eled to witness the marriage of their grandson, Clint Colby and Sarah Overton, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. After attending the reception they came home and a week later drove to Salina to attend the reception there. On this trip they were accompanied by their son-in-law and daughter, daugh-ter, Robert and Martha Ann Leslie. While they were in Salina they had a new branch added to their family tree when Maleia Colby, wife of their grandson, William J. Colby, gave birth to another great grandson, William J. Colby Jr. Norm said they are now home until time for the blessing of this ; new addition which will take ' place in Enterprise. 1 The newest members of the Panguitch Lions Club are Patty and Ed Mock who were unanimously unani-mously "roared" in at our meet-' meet-' ing last night. Doug and Donna Roe and children spent a couple of days last week with Doug's parents, Earl and Evalyn Roe. They were on their way to Orem to, witness the marriage of their daughter Wendy to Justin Alien in the Timpanogos LDS Temple. Wendy attended Panguitch High two years ago for her senior year. While Doug and Yiis family fami-ly were here, the MooreRoe families participated in the baptisms bap-tisms of Wyatt Moore, Kevin's and Deanna's son, and Parker Roe, Doug's and Donna's son. A reminder for our readers who might be interested in hosting host-ing a foreign exchange student for the coming school year. . Now is the time to select your student before the larger districts dis-tricts up north take them all. An interesting note: Burma Shave slogans began in 1927. From then until 1939 there are only three that deal with safe driving (1935, 1937, 1939) From 1940 to 1963 when they ended, about one fourth of them deal with driving safely. With today's traffic records, I would bet that nearly all of them would deal with this subject.
