Show Driving Course Offered For Senior Citizens ESCALANTE Garfield County Senior Citizens announced it will sponsor a "55 AliveMature Driving Course" in two areas of the county this month. The course is slated for Aug. 7 and 8 in Escalante and Aug. 14 and 15 in Panguitch. This is an eight-hour course and will be spread over two days. The class will begin at 1 p.m. both days at a cost of $10 to participants. The course serves as a refresher in order to help senior drivers break poor driving habits. It also gives insight into how older drivers can compensate for age-related problems. prob-lems. To be eligible for this discount, drivers must take a safe driving course at least every three years. The 55 AliveMature Driving Course satisfies that requirement. re-quirement. For all current volunteer drivers or those who are willing to drive any of the senior citizen vans, including in-cluding the new handicapped van, the $10 fee will be paid for by the Garfield County Council on Aging.
