Show Old Time Fiddlers And Bear Festival Set CANNONVILLE -Saturday, July 20 will mark the 15th Annual Cannonville Old Time Fiddlers and Bear Festival at the town's community park. It's been 15 years since a determined deter-mined black bear, intent on becoming a permanent resident, wandered into Cannonville. Its wanderings through town and ultimate necessary demise have been memorialized in the town's Annual Bear Festival. Shortly thereafter, Utah's Old Time Fiddlers joined in the fun. The popular heritage event dates back to 1987 when the week-long exploits of a 300-lb. black bear around town captured the attention of residents throughout the county. Cannonville residents combined the delightful talents of Utah's Old Time Fiddlers with a yearly celebration centered around the captivating story of the bear's temporary residency. It is not so unusual for cougars and bears to wander into the three small communities that make up the Bryce Valley area. Activities Saturday will begin with dinner at 5:30 p.m., sponsored by the local boy scouts. They will prepare pre-pare hamburgers with all the trimmings and offer homemade root beer to the hungry participants. partici-pants.
