Show By Marlene Haws 826-4859 marleneh color-country, net Well, everyone is back home from the ballgames but by no means settled down! That's still a hot topic on any given day! The boys were escorted into town by the fire engine, police cars and a whole bunch of excited excit-ed fans when they arrived back in town. We were all pretty proud of them, not only on the floor but off the floor. They are a great bunch of young men. i, I received an e-mail from Alan Bailey, Highland, the Monday following the games. While it was to me it applies to all of Escalante, so I would like to quote it here, with Alan's permission per-mission .;; "Hi, Marlene, Just wanted to drop a quick note and tell you how much I enjoy reading your column in the Garfield County News each week. It helps keep me connected with my home town. Speaking of home town, I am so proud of our boys baskets ball team. I have listened to some of the games on the radio up here and was pulling to? them these past two weeksj especially to pullout that gam,e, against Panguitch for the Region; Championship-what a heart, breaker! Sweet revenge when they beat them in the state tour( ney! The way I figure it Escalante missed the state-championship state-championship by one "buzzer, beater" shot by Manila on day two. They have so much to be, proud of and you can bet we're looking for them to go all the way next year. I know I speak for so many of us that have graduated from EHS. To the coaches and basketball team,' 'You make me proud to be fromj Escalante! Way to go guysiO And, Marlene, thanks for helping help-ing us stay in touch with 'home.'" Alan. Chan Mclnelly has been here visiting his mother. He came to take his beef back to Farmington. I don't know if it was dead or alive! It looks like you would call when you are in town, Chan! Dave and Yoland Mclnelly returned to their home in Mesa, Ariz., last Monday. It's always good to see a light and some activity at their home here in Escalante. I think some of their kids came for a visit too, but I don't know which ones. They have two daughters living here, Jody Brooks and Chrystal Duthie. Cade Christensen has received his LDS Mission call. He will be going to The Dominican Republic in June. He is the son of Greg and Beth Christensen and grandson of Norman and Ardis Christensen. Congratulations, Cade!
