Show Cannonville Hews j By Marva Fletcher 679-8521 The old Community Center built in the 1970's was leveled to the ground last week as the Bureau of Land Management plans to use the space for a parking lot for the new Grand Staircase-Escalante National Na-tional Monument Visitor Center being built just north of it. The old center served it's purpose well until the new one was built with post office, clinic and town office. Lucy Tumey of Gilbert, Ariz, k here visiting at the home of Mike and Katheryn Riffel. The Riffels spent Wednesday in Cedar City. Howard Leavitt has been having some health problems and so he and wife Dorothy went to St. George for a medical appointment. Dorothy Do-rothy reports that he is feeling better. bet-ter. Kathy Lee and her twin sons of Panguitch visited her parents, the Leavitts one day last week. Checked on all the "sick folks" that we knew about and the reports are that they are improving. Vaughn Twitchell is able to get out in his yard and walk around a little now. Lark Reynolds is also spending spend-ing a little time outside and feeling better. LaVera Moss says she feels almost like a new person since she got her pacemaker. She said it is so good to know she has a regular heart beat. Christina Moss, Rusty Rich and Britten and Cole Twitchell are all enrolled in school at Southern Utah University in Cedar City. Hope we haven't missed anyone! Christina Moss spent the weekend week-end here with her parents, John and Ramona Morreale and their family. She has a part time job at the post . office at the university. Cherlynn Twitchell, who is employed at a bank in Cedar City, took a week of her annual vacation time to come and take care of her grandfather, Vaughn Twitchell. Doug and Tammy Twitchell and two of their children spent Sunday here visiting parents, Vaughn and Mae Twitchell. Kerry Campbell, his wife, Ar-jean Ar-jean and their three daughters of Logan came to visit his brothers and sister here. They all met at the home of Vaughn and Mae Twitchell and enjoyed a nice visit. Family members, besides the Campbells were Glenda Feltner, a sister; Desmond Des-mond Twitchell, a brother and his wife, Gretha and Vaughn, another brother and his wife, Mae Twitchell. LaMar Elmer came from his home in Monroe and took Hobart Feltner to Cedar City for dental work and to St. George for a medical medi-cal check up. Joe and Rae Hughes went to St. George Sunday to attend a missionary mission-ary farewell for their sister-in-law, Nina Vee Hughes, who has been called to the Bristol, England LDS Mission. They also visited-another sister-in-law, Shirley Hughes, who is in the hospital suffering from cancer. Rosie Fletcher came and took her mother, Marva Fletcher to conference con-ference on Sunday. They received a phone call that Marva is the new great-grandmother to a new little grandson, born to Aaron and Kristin Ketterer of Gilbert, Ariz. John and Fonda Fletcher and Arthur and Ne-dra Ne-dra Knight are the new grandparents. grandpar-ents.
