Show By Marlene Haws 826-4859 Clea Woolsey spent a few days in the Garfield Memorial Hospital with pneumonia. Max and Loa Sevy came over from Panguitch to pick some of Garneal Smith's cherries. They also visited with Jan and Stan Liston. Garneal's daughter and granddaughter, Tina and Nicole Fuller drove up from Espanola, New Mex. to spend a couple of days. They took the daughter of Doran and Laurie Smith, Kirsten Oldroyd, back with them to stay until they come back next week for the Smith Reunion. Vickie Coleman, Orem, spent the 4th of July weekend here with part of her family. Doyle and Thelma Cottam celebrated the 4th in Provo and watched the big fireworks display. Vernon and Peg Roundy cam; from Monroe to spend the week -end and do some work aroun d their place. They also went t o Boulder to spend the afternoon and have dinner with their daugl titers ti-ters and families: Steve and Cheryl Cox, St. George and Kev in and Collette Cox, Cedar City. They invited Ruby Griffin to go along with them. Dale Wilson has reared from his job. He is now able to do a lot of those jobs he has been slaving slav-ing just for retirement I'll bet. He really has the old Junius Wi Ison place looking good! Well, folks, this news may not be as diverse as it could be but it might be better than nonie at all.. .and maybe not! I am writing this from the: Utah Valley Hospital in Provo. My daughter and grandson, F'atrice and Ryan Cottam and I b rought my husband, Klyn Haws, h ere on Sunday, July 12, after he collapsed col-lapsed at home. His diagnosed ailment is Guilliaume Berre, pronounced pro-nounced Geome Ba-ray. He doesn't have it as bad as some known cases, but they do tell us that the recovery time is show and can take from weeks to months. So, the Garfield County News people may want to start looking for a new correspondent to take my place for a while. Deon Alvey had to take her husband, Arnold, back to his doctor doc-tor in Cedar City when he suffered suf-fered a set-back after suirgery. He is back home again ;and doing better. On Friday, July 10, Marlene Haws drove a bus load of senior citizens to the Hale Theatre in Graver to attend the play "Sabrina Fair". The group included in-cluded Velma Boulter, Ruby Griffin, Grif-fin, Marie Griffin, Max Porter, Vernon Spencer and Idonna Haws, of Boulder. They ate dinner din-ner at the Boulder Mesa Restau-'rant Restau-'rant and enjoyed a nice evening out. r Lewis and Jean Griffin left for " a 10 day trip to Washington State where they attended a 50-year class reunion. Maybe they can give Jerry Roundy, Connie Jcpscn and Marlene Haws some ideas for theirs next year. Thais Griffin attended her 50-ycar 50-ycar class reunion in Panguitch last weekend. The family of Bill and Carolyn Bowmar enjoyed a weekend together. to-gether. Their son Paul came from Las Vegas, Ncv., and Bruce Bowmar and family flew in from California. Jerry and Shcrrce Roundy went to Salt Lake City to attend a reunion for the Ken Schow family. Jeremy Mclnclly returned from his mission in time to go to Florida Flor-ida on a family vacation with his mother and father, Vcrn and Kathy Mclnclly, and brother and sister Curtis and Melissa. Curtis will be leaving soon to serve and LDS mission. Stan and Jan Liston spent a week in California with the family fam-ily of Stan's daughter, Lana Lord Ray and Lois Barney, Don Haws and grandson, Robert visited vis-ited Klyn Haws at the hospital in Provo before going to the mountains moun-tains for the Dee and Elda Haws family reunion. The Cottam families recently enjoyed a trip to Lake Powell. Brent and Patrice Cottam and family; Myron and Sannctte Cottam Cot-tam and family; Ed and Camille Shakespcar and sons; Kent Cot-tarns Cot-tarns daughter, Lori; Katie Griffin; Sarah Rollins; Britney Sandcfer and Wayne Ott of Tropic. They had fun with the boats and came home crispy brown and peeling! Jim and Janet Spencer, Orem, are visiting at the home of Ruby Griffin. They plan to do some fishing and will stayed until after the 24th holiday. Jolyn Petersen, Payson, is visiting vis-iting with her parents, Mary and LaVcrn Griffin and will slay for the celebration. Klyn and Marlene Haws arc proud grandparents for the 14 th time! Their daughter and son-in-law Jillyn and Jon Sorenscn of Salina, have a new baby girl. Her name is Shaylynn. Robert and Goldie Haws, Loma, Colo., visited vis-ited Klyn and Marlene at the hospital hos-pital in Provo arid the new baby and her parents in Salina. |
