Show Tropic News By Lynn Munson 679-8627 Kent Wintch and his youngest son Rhett of Panaca, Nev. traveled to Longmont, Colo, to visit Kent's daughter Pam and husband Randy Spencer and family and also to take in a Denver Broncos game. Kent wasn't too thrilled with the Colorado Colo-rado weather, so grandson Ronnie Spencer went with uncle Rhett to the game. The highlight of the visit was the baptism of Barbara Anne Wintch, wife of Kent and Betty's oldest son Kenneth of Brighton, Colo., into the LDS Church. Sharing the special event were Kent, Kenneth, Rhett, and Ram and son Randy Kent Spencer. Larvin and Eva Pollock's son Bill and his two sons Dane and Larvin, were here to help harvest the crops in the garden and on the fruit trees. Bill and sons will be down later for the deer hunt. Ron McGee was here several days to visit his aunt Minnie. Niel-son. Niel-son. This week, he is on the elk hunt in Manti. Kenneth Alvey of Las Vegas and Kim Alvey's sons Zachary and Jacob of Richfield were here again to haul , wood for Royal and Rella Alvey. Son Kim didn't make it for the wood haul as he was making a "long haul" to Mississippi. Son Kerry also helped gather wood and get the garden produce in. Kerry Alvey was doing some long distance traveling, also. He was in New Orleans, La., one week and Dallas, Tex., the next for telephone tele-phone company meetings. Wife JoNeil and sons Ryan and Joshua were in Hurricane with JoNeil's parents Russell and Beverly Wright for a week. They surprised Kerry by meeting hime at the St. George airport. At Wallace and Mary Ott's home, sons Lloyd and wife Jan and . son Logan Ott of Ogden visited over the weekend. They also helped to clean up the garden and other chores while here. Adrian and Glenna Pollock's son Royce Pollock of Panguitch was here this weekend putting new-shingles new-shingles on his parents granary. Isn't it wonderful to have children come home to help out with all the "end of summer" work? We send our love and sympathy to the families who lost loved ones last week. Both Nicole Nelson and Dewey Willis leave an empty space in the hearts of all who knew them. Charlie and EvaDean Francisco were in St. George early last week. Charlie had surgery on his shoulder on Wednesday. Daughters Sandrea Francisco and Helena Mortensen were there for support. EvaDean had planned to do some LDS Temple Tem-ple work while there, but her doctor said no because she also needs surgery sur-gery on her other knee. They were all home on Thursday evening and Charlie is doing well. Sandrea will take him back to St. George next week for a checkup. The LDS Family Home Evening Even-ing group met at Margaret Mecham's house. Co-hostess for the evening was Ella Adair. They all enjoyed good food and good companionship for the evening and look forward to next Monday. John and Darrel Munson, sons of Alan Munson, made a quick trip from Las Vegas over the weekend. They trip was mainly to try out new rifles and hopefully scout out a good area for the deer hunt next week. On Saturday these hills will be alive with the sounds of hunters, not music! Everyone be very careful care-ful out there. I hope no one has a "snake day" this week. Sara Littlefield says "that's when you feel lower than a snakes's belly." Stay well and happy, everyone! To correct an error I made in a previous column, Dolly Mun-sqn.who Mun-sqn.who visited Si Munson was the wife of Rex Munson, not Leo Munson, as stated. |
