Marie Griffin and Haws and Janet Porter have also been to Provo and back. Well, folks, to some it must seem that we have all been a little stupid. We stayed here in Escalante and settled for less monetary wealth because it was "home" and we knew it was the best and most beautiful country in the world. Now we have been made a National Monument, without any consi'deration at all, and told (by Robert Redford no less) that "if we can't make a living here now we can always go somewhere else." And do what? Turn it over to him and his environmental friends for a playground? Not by a long shot, Bob. We were here when nobody no-body else wanted this part of the country and we've survived so far, so we will hang around a while longer. Someone will have to be here to pick up the toilet tissue and garbage the "protectors" leave behind! be-hind! , |
