Show i '. , " - - - Drivers of two big northbound diesel semi's escaped with minor injuries when their rigs were involved in an accident about &30 p.m. Nov. 30 on Hwy. 89, one mile north of the Hwy. 20 junction. Ron Yates, 46, Memphis, Tenn., attempted to make a U-turn with his northbound 1995 Consolidated Freightliner carrying a load of windshields wind-shields when it was struck broadside by Donald Manning's 2000 Dick Simon rig. Manning, 66, of Orem and Yates were both transported by ambulance to Garfield Memorial Hospital where they were treated and released. The accident was investigated by Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Cole Douglas. Panguitch Volunteer Firefighters worked past midnight to clean up the highway along with personnel and volunteer friends from Bryce Canyon Towing. |
