Show Panguitch Lions Have Very Successful Year In 1996 PANGUITCH The Panguitch Pan-guitch Lions Club reported 1996 as one of its most active and successful success-ful years, as club members were able to donate over $5,000 for worthy wor-thy causes. Most of the funds were used to provide money for the new city fire station and a sizeable portion por-tion also went to individuals (mainly students) and organizations. Lion's club leaders say they were able to give this financial assistance as-sistance thanks to the community support for the clubs fund raising activities. The club's Community Birthday Calendar is their number one fund-raiser and is well supported. sup-ported. Their beef raffle and early morning breakfasts were also successful. suc-cessful. Serving dinner and breakfast to over 150 bicyclists who spent the night at the KOA Campground was one of their best experiences, a club spokesman said. The event was under the chairmanship of Lion Vee Henrie, who has become very skilled in doing these kinds of activities ac-tivities and is also accumulating the equipment to make them possible. Currently, the club is discussing several possible projects for their Sesquicentennial Year and hope their members will have community commu-nity support in whatever projects they undertake. |
