Show Dates Changed For Some Limited Entry Elk Hunts SALT LAKE CITY - The season sea-son dates for five limited entry 'any weapon' bull elk hunts in southwestern south-western Utah have been moved up. The changes were requested by the Division of Wildlife Resources and approved by the Utah Wildlife Board. "This request was made for consistency con-sistency in limited entry hunt dates - and to avoid overlapping the 'spike only' hunt on the Fishlake unit" said Linda Stoinski, Division information in-formation manager. The names of the five hunt units, their hunt number and the new season dates, are as follows: 30-333, Pahvant, Sept. 20 - Oct 5, 1997 ; 31-334, Fishlake, Sept. 20 - Oct. 5, 1997; 32-335, Monroe, Sept. 20 - Oct. 5, 1997; 34-337, Indian Peaks, Sept. 20 - Oct. 5, 1997; 35-338, Panguitch Lake, Sept. 20 - Oct. 5, 1997. Two other 1997 Bucks, Bulls and Once-ln-A-Lifetime Proclamation additions and changes involve a Posted Hunting Unit (PHU) description not found in the I proclamation and an incorrect boundary description. The excluded PHU is a spike bull unit in Sevier County. Information about it is as follows: 31-400, Grazing Pasture, in Sevier County, three rifle permits. A boundary description for the I Boulder Top elk unit also was in correctly printed. The correct description de-scription is as follows: 37-308, Boulder Top (Elk); 37-340; 37-340; 37-350; Garfield, Piute, Sevier and Wayne counties - Boundary begins be-gins at Antimony and the Dry Wash road; then northeasterly on the Dry Wash road to Parker Lake and continuing eastward to the Long Hollow road; northeasterly on this road to Loa and Highway SR-24; SR-24; easterly on SR-24 to the Notom-Bullfrog road; southerly on this road to the Burr Trail; westerly on the Burr Trail to the Harris Wash road; southwesterly on this road to the junction of the Escalante River and Harris Wash, Hunters are reminded to use the last three digits in the hunt number when applying.
