Panguitch 4-H member Kaylynn Roundy displays her handiwork that that captured two sweepstakes ribbons for her at the recent Utah State Fair where 27 other items made by Panguitch youth were also entered. Kaylynn Roundy Captures State Fair Sweepstakes Kaylynn Roundy, Panguitch, captured Sweepstakes ribbons at the Utah State Fair for an afghan she crocheted and a plastic cross stitch tissue cover she made. In all, some 27 separate items were entered at the state fair, all made by youth in Panguitch. Garfield County's Utah State University Extension Service's annual 4-H Achievement Open House held Sept. 30 at the courthouse court-house in Panguitch was a rousing success with 4-H members and leaders from all three areas of the county attending. First-year certificates, cer-tificates, four-year pins, leader certificates, 10-and 15-year leader pins, and achievement pins were awarded. State Fair items and money were returned. State 4-H contests were reviewed and outstanding items displayed. The National 4-H 4-H ad campaign was shown on television for everyone to see, and "Character Counts" posters were displayed. "Character Counts" games were played and ideas from the three areas of the county were shared. The Dairy Food contest T-shirt was shown and last, but not least, there was a great "Milk Shake Marathon." Ice cream and milk were furnished, fur-nished, with everyone bringing their own favorite milk shake flavoring. fla-voring.
