Show By Mamie Talbot 676-8084 The rains and a big stream of water in the canal are keeping the fields and lawns green. Many herds of cattle are grazing in the valley this year instead of so many on the forest. A lot of horses are being pastured here, also. Judy P. Henrie, her three sisters and mother Vivian Peterson are on a family trip this summer but they weren't sure just where they would -' go so we'll have to catch up with . them for the information later on. "Hilda Gardner has had friends Varial and Wayne Jamison of Shel-byville, Shel-byville, Tenn., here with her for -several days. The Jamisons worked at Bryce Lodge for three years while -Hilda was working there. They loved this area and the people and were mightily tempted to buy a house in Panguitch while they were here. Hilda also had Panguitch native Bertha Seamon Stromberg of Salt. Lake City and her son and daughter-in-law, the Kirk Strombergs of Bethesda, Md., for the past week. Bertha was born and lived here until the 3rd grade. Then the Frank Seamon family moved to Cedar City. Kirk was on the debating team at the University of Utah with Wayne Owens and they have been friends in Washington, D.C. where Kirk s a lawyer, also. They enjoyed en-joyed remembering their Panguitch roots. Released in the 3rd LDS Ward are the Relief Society officers, Cindy Williams, Lola C. Henrie and Bonnie Dalton. Newly sustained sus-tained officers are President LaVee Roundy, education counselor Shirley Shir-ley Chidester, homemaking counselor coun-selor Pauline Prince and Lori Veater, secretary. Here for a day to visit with mom Mamie and sister Barbara Talbot were Dennis and Karen T. Williams, Kellie Williams, Scott and Jenifer W. Yetter and little ones, Brandon and Lindsay, before the Yetters returned to Sunnyside, Wash., for the school year. Lyle and Kathy Talbot, daughter Carrie-Anne Talbot and a friend, Alisha Mendenhall, stayed overnight over-night with Mamie Talbot while they were returning to Sandy from Las Vegas, Nev., where they attended at-tended the LDS temple wedding of Shannon Talbot and Beau Schmid. Carrie-Anne and Alisha enjoyed hiking in Red and Bryce Canyons. ' Lyle and Kathy loved seeing friends and family here. LDS Relief Society sisters here are tying quilts to send with Kosovo refugees who are returning . to their country. All their belongings belong-ings have been destroyed and winter is coming on. Kay Hatch will deliver de-liver the quilts to Salt Lake City. Cub Scout Fitness Day was held Aug. 17 at the elementary school. Elder Riley Roberts, son of Ken and Valeene Sawyer Roberts of Antimony, reported his LDS mission mis-sion to Zimbabwe in the 2nd Ward Laura Pierson sang a song. Stan and Lana Foy are finishing up the odds and ends while they are living in their new home on Panguitch Pan-guitch Creek. Lana is trying to find a picture of the old Airdome dance hall which was on the site of their home many years ago. The roof and siding are now on the building at the new baseball complex in the southeast comer of town. It is very attractive and landscaping land-scaping is being done on the grounds. The floor joists are going on the main floor of the Evan Boshells' new home. The walls are nearly up on the new Public Safety building west of town. The Senior Citizens' bus took nine people to Cedar City on Aug. 9. They really enjoyed the trip. In the 4th LDS Ward, Heather Osbom's mission farewell was held on Aug. 8. Her parents are Kent and Donna Osborn. Her family drove her to the Missionary Train- ... ing Center on Aug. 11. Panguitch native Kay Richards sent word from Salt Lake City that Nello, Ingra and Reta Mae, children of the late Hans and Sadie Ipson, welcomed 41 family members to a reunion at Blue Bird's Nest at Panguitch Pan-guitch Lake on Aug. 7 Many of the Ipson family were here for the Pioneer Day holiday. It was so good to see them. |
