Show Panguitch tisvs By Mamie Talbot 676-8084 The black birds and starlings are forming huge flocks. When they land on a newly mowed lawn and then take off they almost al-most lift the whole lawn with them! The west end of Panguitch Lake is covered with ducks and a flock of eagles were seen souring over the hills north of the lake. The quakies are getting more yellowish yel-lowish in spots but not much yet. With the kids in school now, the streets are very quiet until three o'clock when the bikes, high-school track runners and mothers going to pick up the kids make things livelier. Dan Marshall, son of Monte and Cleo Marshall, called to say he had visited in Sandy with former for-mer residents June and Louise Barron. June worked at a government gov-ernment job here sometyears ago. He was Bishop of the old Panguitch Pan-guitch LDS North Ward and delighted de-lighted to discuss with Dan many of the happenings and members of the Ward at that fime. He remembered re-membered plumber Kay Freshwater Freshwa-ter and many people he learned to love. June has diabetes now and isn't doing as well but Louise is well. Their daughter Cheryl called Dan after his visit and they renewed school days memories for a half hour. Dan has written a (See PANGUITCH on page 5-A) Panguitch News From page 2-A book on his Cooper ancestors of Panguitch and sent a copy of it to the local Family History Center. The pretty new house in the Southwest corner of town across the street from the CM. Smith home belongs to Larry and Lisa Bridges Sidwell. Lisa is Randel and Debbie Bridges' daughter. The Questar gas lines are getting get-ting close to the North-eastern boundary of town houses. It is fascinating to watch the big machines ma-chines and the men going about this work. Several locals have jobs on this project. Laurel and Louise Holman told about their three year mission to Albania in the Panguitch LDS 2nd Ward. They said they were especially grateful that a good number of LDS members will be able to take on the responsibilities responsibili-ties of keeping the Church active now that the missionaries have been removed from Albania due to war and other troubles there. Ed and Suzanne Callies moved out of the late Bill Brown (Ed's grandfather's) house. Ed is working in Beaver and going to a Trade Tech School. Suzanne and the little girls are living with her parents Harvard and Barbara Hea-ton Hea-ton until they can find a house in Beaver. Maxine Crosby had knee surgery sur-gery in Cedar City and is now 1 here in our Rehabilitation and Care Center for therapy and healing. heal-ing. She is doing well. The Jerry Wilcocks, who own the former Armeda Farnsworth house, are building a big garage and. have added an attractive porch to their house. Mary Perkins enjoyed celebrating cele-brating her 80th birthday this past week. She said it was wonderful to get cards and calls from so many friends and family members. mem-bers. Grandson Curtis Barney and family had a wonderful birthday dinner for her. She received a dozen beautiful red roses from her sister Curtie Riggs and niece Georgia Lee. Mary's kids are Dawna Barney of Panguitch and Ron Perkins from up north. We noticed a 'For Sale' sign on the Kent and Phyllis Mclnelly house on Main Street. Mike and Sandy Hudson went to California last week end to visit both of their fathers. There were many relatives of the Klein and Hulet famlies in town for the wedding reception of Randy Klein and Lora Wilcock on Aug. 28. The young couple were married in the Manti LDS Temple. Parents are Randy and Jackie Klein of Panguitch and Dan and Nancy . Wilcock of Hurricane. |
