Show State Consumer Services Group Sets Delta Meet Representative Jim Yardley (R-Panguitch) (R-Panguitch) urged Garfield County residents to be aware of a meeting of the Utah State Committee of Consumer Con-sumer Services set for Friday, June 27 at 2 p.m. meeting will be held in the Delta City Council chambers at the Delta City Hall. The Consumer Committee is responsible for representing and assisting residential, small business and agricultural consumers of electrical, natural gas, and telephone utilities before the Public Service Commission. The public is invited to meet with the committee, Yardley said-, to give input, request assistance, or express concerns about electric, natural gas, or telephone utility services and rates. The June 27 meeting is being held in Delta to enable the public in central and southern Utah to have input into the positions the committee com-mittee should take on their behalf. The committee, headed by Felshaw King, is available to meet with consumers Friday afternoon regarding utility matters regulated by the Public Service Commission. The committee is not the PSC and cannot set or reduce ruica, However, the committee does take positions and present evidence which most often advocates lower utility rates for consumers. The committee also assists consumers with individual utility problems. |
