Show Power Line Damage Causes Outage A power outage that lasted almost six and one-half hours Friday night was blamed on vandalism by Utah Power and Light representatives. Electrical power went off at 5:19 p.m. and wasn't restored until almost midnight in Panguitch and at Panguitch Lake. Deer hunters shooting at transmission tran-smission lines were blamed for the outage which affected Kingston, Junction, Circleville, Antimony, Panguitch and Panguitch Lake. Power was restored shortly in Circleville, Kingston, Junction and Antimony from alternate sources, but power users at points south had to wait while UP&L crews from Kanab and Richfield searched for the problem, located after dark south of Circleville east of the Sevier River where three spans of conductors con-ductors had been downed. Crews worked at peak pace to restore service said Brad Whittaker district manager at Kanab, but so far the company has no suspects in the vandalism. - |
