Show By Harriet Priska Happy Thanksgiving! So many families are enjoying reunions with loved ones both far and near. One does realize that it really is love and caring people that make life precious. Escalante LDS Stake President Bob Munson reported a very successful suc-cessful stake conference recently. Visiting authority Dean L. Larsen came down from Salt Lake City for two days of meetings. Both meetings were well-attended. The November meeting of the Escalante Sons of Utah Pioneers, joined by the the Kanab chapter, was conducted Saturday, Nov. 23 by President Ross Shelley in the Hole-in-the-Rock area. The purpose pur-pose of the expedition was to determine de-termine what can be done to repair the road in several places. A petition, peti-tion, initiated by the group, has been presented to the National Park Service to build a restroom in the area for visitors. They also have plans to put new markers on the entire trail. New members are always welcome. Contact Ross Shelley at 826-4918. The Bob Munsons are looking forward to Thanksgiving as they are expecting the families of their two daughters. The house will be full with the Bob and Julie Zurchers, Boise, Ida. and the Todd and Rea Jean Monsens, Springville. Friday night, Nov. 22, Bill and Dawn Griffin attended the retirement retire-ment party for Dawn's sister, Gen-eal Gen-eal Shurtz, at Ruby's Inn. Geneal has worked at the Forest Service for 17 years and was delighted to be joined by her four children, Valerie Val-erie Huntington, Cedar City, Mrs. Dan (Vickey) Nelson, St. George, Mrs. Mike (Brenda) Harper, Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove, and Kenneth Shurtz, also St. George. Bill and Dawn Griffin will have most of their children and grandchildren for Thanksgiving: the Boyd Griffins and the Randy Griffins, St. George; the Bryan Griffins, Ogden; Jeanette and Doug Braithwaite, Sunset; and Steve and Patrice Eyre, Centerville.
