Cody James Garrett entered the world in Garfield Memorial Hospital at 6:25 p.m. New Year's Day, much to the delight of mom, Jamie Carol and dad, Brigham Earl. He tipped the scapes at eight pounds three ounces and is 20 inches long. Mom and dad received many gifts for his distincton of being the county's first 1989 baby. Boy First Baby Forl989 At Garfield Hospital Garfield Memorial Hospital's first baby of the New Year, Cody James Garrett, arrived at 6:25 p.m. New Year's day. He weighed in at eight pounds three ounces and was 20 inches long. i Cody who will call North Fork Road, east of J Zion, home has a brother Brandon, 9, and two I sisters Jessica, 4, and Megan, 2. I His parents are Brigham Earl Garrett and i Jamie Carol Garrett. Garrett is manager of the Flying LD Ranch in the area. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Garrett, St Anthony, Ida. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Viv Adams, Kanab. Garrett said he is very appreciative of the ! many gifts given to the family by generous local merchants. Gifts to the infant included a $10 gift i certificate from Husky Round Up Service; Tods Truck Stop gave a choice of $10 value in products; Dixie State Bank in Escalante gave a $50 savings bond; Zion's Bank Panguitch gave a $10 deposit for a savings account in Cody's name, and Garfield County News provided a one-year one-year subscription. S & C Merc donated a pair of pajamas of the parents choice; Kaibab Industries gave a $10 gift certificate, and Welcome Market a $20 gift certificate. Yardley Insurance Agency donated a $10 gift certificate; Utah Power and Light Company gave a $10 gift certificate good on any electric bill. Leland's Chevron gave the newborn 10 gallons of Chevron Supreme; Sears Catalog Store donated do-nated a $10 gift certificate; Little Indian Curio gave a sweater and a pair of moccasins, and Panguitch Drug gave a box of Huggies Newborn diapers and a gift for mom. Garfield Memorial Hospital also donated disposable diapers. |
