Show Utah Sons Fete Journey ESCALANTE Nearly 250 members of Sons of the Utah Pioneers Pi-oneers from all over Utah will gather Friday in Escalante to celebrate cele-brate the Hole-in-the-Rock journey made by many of their ancestors. Kicking off the celebration will be a program set for the LDS Stake Center at 7:30. Guest speaker will be LaMar Crabtree, author of "The Incredible Journey," the story of the Hole-in-the-Rock party. Western entertainers from Moroni, "The Shcepherders" will provide music for a dance following the program. The public is invited to attend the program and dance. On Saturday, the group will travel to famous Dance Hall Rock where a catered dinner and program will be provided, with Mavis Munson Mun-son relating the story of her ancestors ances-tors who were part of the Hole-in-the-Rock journey. A dance will follow on Saturday evening. Wayne Banks, Escalante, is reactivating reac-tivating a Sons of Utah Pioneers in Escalante, with anyone interested invited to contact him about membership. |
